Radiologist Technologist

About the role

AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida, is hiring a full-time day-shift Radiologist Technologist. The technologist performs radiographic imaging procedures, positions patients and equipment, and provides direct patient care within the technologist's scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Moves, positions and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete procedures safely
• Performs imaging with correct patient demographic and examination information, ensuring high-quality images that meet department standards
• Follows radiation safety principles (time, distance, shielding) to keep exposure ALARA
• Assists patients during procedures, maintaining their comfort, safety and privacy
• Keeps exam rooms clean and stocked, ensures equipment is cleaned and checked, and notifies staff when inventory is low
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems
• Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed and follows written and verbal instructions

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• One year of post-certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers
• Previous radiologic technologist experience preferred
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) license and BLS/CPR certification required
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English

Required skills

• Knowledge of diagnostic imaging, including surgery and trauma
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and x-ray producing equipment
• Ability to use radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and to determine appropriate technical factors
• Knowledge of radiology software such as EPIC and PACS
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
