RN Med Surg / Tele Contract - Nights (36 hrs/wk)

About the role

AdventHealth Porter is hiring a registered nurse for a Med Surg / tele contract covering night shifts, 36 hours per week, with a stated rate of $80.60 per hour. The schedule is PRN and the location is Denver, Colorado.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate critical thinking appropriate to the patient's level of care and collect and document patient health data systematically and timely.
• Assess patients thoroughly and continuously, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
• Implement interventions from the plan of care safely, timely and appropriately, and document actions taken.
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer to promote timely patient placement.
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review processes as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures and care plans based on their assessed learning needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff, and act as a patient advocate.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, and ensure safe handoff communication and documentation.
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE appropriately, perform hand hygiene and enforce safety regulations.
• Take part in quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency initiatives and carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• 2 years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English, read, spoken and written.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise plans of care.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• BLS (CPR) certification required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications preferred.
