RN House Supervisor – St. Mary Campus (PRN)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking an RN House Supervisor for the St. Mary Campus on a PRN basis. This position provides administrative and clinical support to facilitate patient care delivery using the nursing process and helps ensure efficient use of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to nursing staff in delivering patient care.
• Round frequently throughout the shift, identifying issues that require administrative action and communicating them to the appropriate level.
• Supervise and lead staff effectively, adapting behavior to the specific patient population.
• Provide care based on physical, psycho‑social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to patient ages.
• Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and ensure compliance.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum three years of acute‑care experience; critical‑care or charge‑nurse experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and CCRN preferred.
• Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval, with experience using Windows‑style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication, strong conflict‑resolution and interpersonal abilities.
