RN Float Pool - Critical Care / Med Surg

About the role

AdventHealth Ocala is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Float Pool, covering both Critical Care and Med Surg units. The pool pays a set hourly rate plus annual increases and applicable shift differentials: $45 per hour for Critical Care and $43 per hour for Med Surg. Critical Care Float Pool RNs may support Med Surg units about 85% of the time while keeping the $45/hour Critical Care rate. The schedule is full time, 24-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement.
• Develop and prioritize an individualized plan of care with the patient, family and health team, and implement it with appropriate nursing interventions and physician orders.
• Collect comprehensive patient and unit data to support process improvement.
• Educate patients and families, participate in hourly rounding, and ensure safe handoffs and documentation.
• Participate in peer review and evaluate patient outcomes daily.
• Coordinate care through leadership and delegation appropriate to skill level, and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• 2+ years of recent hospital experience.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's preferred.
• English-speaking, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mental and emotional stability, mature judgment, and confidentiality.
• Basic computer skills; previous EMR experience preferred.
