About the role

This PRN RN position provides emergency medicine trauma care within Ochsner's patient‑centered environment, emphasizing compassionate, inclusive service and adherence to nursing standards.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and assess learning needs.
Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while leading interdisciplinary collaboration.
Evaluate data to promote change and achieve optimal outcomes.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s compliance programs.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Current BLS certification.
CPI certification.
ACLS certification.
PALS certification.
