RN – Emergency Department

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department of Lutheran Hospital, serving a diverse population from infants to geriatrics. The role involves delivering high‑quality nursing care throughout the patient journey and educating patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments, and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Implement, monitor, and update patient care plans; assess and coordinate discharge needs.
• Document patient conditions, communicate changes, and educate patients and families.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of acute care or Emergency Department experience, or equivalent military RN experience.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within one year).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or obtain within one year).
