RN Clinical Research - Oncology

About the role

This position evaluates, initiates, and maintains all activities related to the conduct of oncology clinical trials. The RN collaborates with sponsors, funding agencies, departmental staff, and patients to ensure compliance with trial requirements and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in trial selection, recruit and screen study participants, and obtain informed consent.
• Coordinate patient activities, oversee investigational drug administration, and monitor safety and adverse events.
• Manage data entry into sponsor-specific systems, resolve queries, and support junior team members.
• Lead special projects for workflow optimization and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff, interns, and new hires, providing professional development and preceptorship.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing (required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience with at least 3 years in clinical research, or 4 years relevant research experience with ACRP/SOCRA certification.
• Current RN license in the state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Expert understanding of ICH guidelines for ethical research conduct.
• Proficiency with Epic (Super‑User) and other web‑based applications.
• Knowledge of lean management principles and regulatory processes across all research phases.
• Strong data management skills, including use of sponsor‑specific entry systems.
