About the role

The Clinical Decision Unit at Indian River Hospital provides observation care for patients before discharge or readmission. This night‑shift RN position supports a collaborative team delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients in the observation unit.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and follow physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs and educate patients and families.

Required profile

Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
One year of acute‑care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
Medication administration and patient monitoring.
