About the role

The Assistant Nurse Manager on the 4 North Medical/Surgical Unit at Indian River Hospital will support patient care while overseeing unit operations. The role blends administrative duties with hands‑on nursing to ensure high‑quality, family‑centric care.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate clinical operations, including patient admissions, discharges, transfers and scheduling.
Provide direct patient care for diverse conditions such as GI distress, respiratory issues and seizures.
Conduct performance evaluations, address attendance issues, and mentor staff.
Participate in quality‑improvement projects, committees and recruitment activities.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN.
Current RN licensure in Florida and BLS certification.
Minimum two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge, strong communication and leadership abilities.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proficiency in nursing documentation and electronic health record systems.
