Medical Assistant - Ambulatory OBGYN Practice

About the role

The Medical Assistant will join Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital’s Partners in Women’s Health team, providing supportive care in an ambulatory OBGYN setting. You will work in a collaborative environment, assisting patients, families, and providers to ensure high‑quality health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with patient rooming, intakes, specimen collection, and performing basic tests.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition and update health maintenance information.
• Administer specific medications under provider direction and maintain equipment and examination areas.
• Perform administrative duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting program (or equivalent military medical training).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained during new‑hire period if not already held).
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience with demonstrated proficiency.

Required skills

• Medical Assisting certification (CMA, NCMA, or CCMA) preferred.
• Ability to administer medications under supervision.
• Specimen collection and basic diagnostic testing.
• Proficiency with patient registration and data entry systems.
