RN Cardiology Cath Lab

About the role

AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Davenport, Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Cardiology Cath Lab. The nurse assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs, develops care plans with the interdisciplinary team and delivers relationship-based, compassionate care. The schedule is full-time day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients through observation, interview and review of medical records and clinical data, and develop and implement care plans.
• Demonstrate competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization and specimen collection.
• Advocate for patient health, safety and rights, and provide patient and family education.
• Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in line with state board and hospital policy, and maintain accurate patient charts and records.
• Manage resources and patient flow, and use standards of care, hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Document and report procedures accurately, and assist in patient flow through invasive cardiology areas.
• Participate in training new employees once independent in each position.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• 1+ year of nursing experience preferred, with a specialty-specific skill base (cath lab experience highly preferred).
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Recent acute care experience and EKG competency.
• Knowledge of critical care medications and of medications given before, during and after procedures.
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Cath lab experience and ability to learn scrub, record and circulate roles in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular cases.
• Operating x-ray equipment and placing service calls, adhering to basic radiation safety.
• Competency in moderate sedation and proficiency in charting and recording.
• Knowledge of anatomy of the circulatory and nervous systems.
• Windows operating system experience and ability to learn specialized software such as hemodynamic monitoring software.

Pay range: $32.48 - $56.84. Florida Level 2 background screening applies to certain positions.
