Clinical Engineer (Biomedical Equipment Technician)

About the role

AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Davenport, Florida, is hiring a full-time day-shift Clinical Engineer to maintain and repair medical and non-medical equipment. The role covers troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance documentation and keeping equipment and work areas clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair medical and non-medical equipment using test equipment
• Document the maintenance history of medical equipment, including scheduled and unscheduled work
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Perform related duties as directed, with a cost-conscious attitude toward time, materials and supplies
• Follow regulations protecting patients' right to confidential information, including those concerning minors and adults

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; technical/vocational school preferred
• 3+ years of industry experience, or military experience with an electronics background
• Field service maintenance with a medical equipment maintenance vendor is also acceptable
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English
• Driver's license required

Required skills

• Assemble, maintain and repair medical equipment
• Comprehend technical manuals and instructions
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of common concepts, practices and procedures in the field
• Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred

Pay range: $21.17 - $39.39. Positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law.
