RN Acute Care Neuro/Med – Days 5H

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide acute neuro/medical care on a day shift, using the nursing process and adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure high‑quality patient outcomes, and support Ochsner’s mission of exceptional care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care and assess learning needs.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage resources.
• Apply data‑driven decision‑making to promote optimal outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment, and manage time effectively.
