RN – Acute Care Neurology and Cardiac Telemetry

About the role

The 8100 Family Practice Unit at Akron General is a high‑acuity, fast‑paced Neuro/Cardiac Telemetry unit caring for patients with strokes, pneumonia, sepsis, and other complex conditions. As a Registered Nurse you will provide direct patient care during night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for neuro‑cardiac patients.
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor cardiac drip therapies.
• Document care, coordinate interdisciplinary plans, and act as patient advocate.
• Participate in quality improvement and interdisciplinary outcome evaluations.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program.
• Current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.

Required skills

• Knowledge of neuro‑cardiac patient care.
• Ability to perform ADL assistance and manage complex medical equipment (central lines, ventilators, tracheostomies).
• Proficiency in patient assessment and documentation.
