RN – Acute Care General Emergent Surgery and Trauma Unit

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 52A Surgical Unit, a high‑acuity post‑surgical and trauma floor. The RN will provide direct patient care, education, and coordination throughout the patient journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care, implement and monitor patient care plans, and serve as primary coordinator for interdisciplinary care.
• Perform drains and dressing changes, assist with patient mobility, and monitor patients transferred from PACU and ED.
• Document and communicate patient conditions, execute physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN) with current RN licensure in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants; internal applicants may have less with approval.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the unit, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
