RF Validation and Characterization Engineer

About the role

Falcomm, a semiconductor company focused on energy-efficient RF products, is hiring an RF Validation and Characterization Engineer in Atlanta, GA. The role involves testing Power Amplifiers, LNAs and other RFICs on-chip, developing test methodologies, documenting test and calibration procedures and automating test processes. The position is full-time and on-site at the Atlanta office.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-chip electrical testing of power amplifiers, LNAs and other RFICs
• Set up the RF test bench and conduct manual on-wafer/on-die probing
• Characterize RFIC devices and measure their performance
• Analyze test data and prepare characterization reports
• Automate RFIC testing through scripting
• Validate setups by comparing their performance against a standard
• Design RF PCBs for RFIC products and internal use

Required profile

• BSEE or MSEE, or BS/MS in electrical engineering or a related technical field
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in RF and mmWave testing and characterization of compound semiconductor and/or silicon-based integrated circuits up to 100 GHz
• Understanding of RF theory and standard test practices
• Willingness to work full-time on-site in Atlanta

Required skills

• Manual on-die probing and test setup configuration, including calibration and measurement automation
• Operation and/or programming of on-wafer test equipment such as network analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power meters and spectrum analyzers
• Data analysis
• Preferred: Python and/or MATLAB scripting, HTOL and temperature testing, built-in self-test methods, power amplifier and LNA characterization, and RFIC design and characterization experience
