Retail Service Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Retail Service Specialist for its store in St Charles, Illinois. The position provides a high level of service to retail and installer customers and supports store management with assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Follow and promote company customer service programs such as Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling and Rock the Lot.
• Greet walk-in customers promptly and help them select merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists with professional customers.
• Answer store calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend premium items and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, handle cash and checks, make change and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns, and resolve customer complaints in a friendly way.
• Help with daily image maker, planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking, cleaning, and daily operations such as preparing returns, stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts.
• After training, operate brake lathes and other store test equipment.
• Perform in-store services where state and local laws allow, such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, scanning trouble codes and replacing headlight capsules.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate, meeting company driving eligibility requirements.

Required profile

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
• Outstanding, friendly and professional customer service, while multitasking between phone and in-store customers.
• Completion of assigned company training.

Required skills

• Desired: familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system and automotive sales or service.
• Desired: ASE certification and fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
