Retail General Manager - Trainee

About the role

Pilot Flying J, part of Pilot Company, is seeking an experienced Retail General Manager to oversee its high-volume retail facilities. The manager builds, coaches, manages and develops teams on staffing, interviewing, hiring and training, and drives sales while meeting customer expectations. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and execute travel center and restaurant business plans to meet sales, profit and customer satisfaction objectives
• Ensure customer expectations are met and provide customer service
• Manage team members and hold meetings with subordinate employees
• Maintain effective vendor relationships
• Drive sales and track inventory
• Perform P&L analysis

Required profile

• Minimum 2-3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, grocery or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results
• Previous management experience in high-volume retail with P&L accountability
• Ability to create and maintain a customer-focused culture
• Integrity, accountability and strong team leadership at the managerial level
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends and holidays
