Restructuring Manager (Turnaround & Restructuring)

About the role

EY Parthenon, Turnaround & Restructuring in Chicago, is hiring a Restructuring Manager (multiple positions) to manage and supervise staff on engagement projects that help clients develop financial and operational strategies to improve liquidity, credit availability and shareholder return. The role advises distressed companies and debtors on turnaround planning, cash flow analysis and restructuring alternatives, and supports negotiations with lenders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise staff on engagement projects
• Advise distressed companies and debtors on viability diligence, cash flow analysis, cash forecasting and restructuring alternatives, including review of debt services
• Support distressed companies in negotiations with lenders
• Prepare complex financial analyses and models, and conduct due diligence investigations
• Prepare memoranda and presentations on client companies and industries, and perform comparables analysis
• Gather market data into usable reports and advise stakeholders, secured creditors and investors on viability, cash flow and security reviews
• Assist engagement Partners with scope of work, conflict checks, budgeting and staff resource planning
• Identify business development activities and build internal and external client relationships

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of related experience
• 3 years of quantitative or qualitative analysis
• 3 years of financial restructuring and/or advisory work for creditors or distressed companies
• 2 years of project management and supervision of engagement teams
• 3 years of financial modeling and valuations experience
• Travel up to 80%, of which 20% may be international
