Financial Institutions Examiner Trainee - UMP

About the role

The State of Illinois, through its Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, is hiring one Financial Institutions Examiner Trainee (UMP skill option) in Chicago. The trainee works under direct supervision for six to twelve months, receiving classroom and on-the-job training in examining pawnbrokers. The position is full time, salaried, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with anticipated hybrid work and occasional travel back to the headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to assigned facilities to examine pawnbrokers and determine their financial condition, safety and soundness, and compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Evaluate corporate fiduciaries' management, operations, internal controls and auditing, earnings, compliance and asset management.
• Perform on-site examinations of pawnbroker regulation applications.

Required profile

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the State does not sponsor employment visas.
• Bilingual skills are welcome.

• Anticipated starting salary of $4,922 per month, with a range of $4,922 to $6,762.
