Respiratory Therapist – NICU Nights

About the role

The NICU Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric. This night‑shift position is based in the Baptist NICU and includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures, including oxygen therapy, artificial ventilation, and airway management.
• Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs.
• Document clinical information, educate patients and staff, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• National Board of Respiratory Care certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• No prior experience required.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency, Windows‑style applications, and data entry.
• Ability to operate respiratory equipment, perform arterial blood gas analysis, and interpret EKGs.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
