About the role

The Respiratory Therapist Intern will work in assigned clinics and facilities under the supervision of licensed respiratory therapists. This position provides hands‑on experience to students in a university‑based health system, supporting patient care while developing professional skills.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with patients and answer their questions, providing consultations and instructions.
• Learn and apply respiratory therapy techniques related to lung conditions and recovery.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
• Adhere to university and unit‑level policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
• No prior experience required.
• Certification requirements as defined by the department.
• Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, and strong written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
