About the role
The University of Arkansas at Monticello is seeking a live‑in Residential Counselor to support first‑year students during the 2026 Summer II Session. This temporary position combines peer counseling, residential supervision, and assistance with campus programs, providing a safe and engaging environment for students living on‑campus.
Key responsibilities
- Live in a residence hall and be available to address student needs around the clock.
- Provide peer counseling and guidance to first‑year students.
- Supervise and develop recreational and community‑building activities.
- Assist with program events, complete student evaluation forms, and attend orientation and staff meetings.
- Support instructors in classroom settings and tutor students in evening help rooms.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Students office.
Required profile
- Current full‑time upper‑class undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff in both classroom and residential settings.
- Prior peer‑counseling experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse communities and in group environments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, responsibility and maturity.
