Research Technician – Superconductor R&D

About the role

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Research Technician to support its superconducting R&D and pilot projects. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative laboratory environment, helping to develop next‑generation superconductor technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist process development and experimental studies within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
• Operate and maintain laboratory tools and systems for materials characterization.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting on project progress.
• Support senior process leads by tracking milestones and delivering results on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 3 years as a process or metrology technician in R&D or manufacturing.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, work independently, and see projects through from test execution to reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
