Research Scientist

About the role

Prolific is expanding its Research Sciences team and is looking for a Research Scientist to lead a dedicated portfolio on data quality, online sampling methods, and the impact of AI on research. Reporting to the lead researcher, you will operate as an individual contributor, shaping your own agenda while collaborating with the broader sciences group.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute primary research on data quality, online methodologies, and AI effects on research.
• Produce publishable work that meets the standards of top academic venues and industry conferences.
• Build and manage partnerships with academic institutions and industry collaborators.
• Present findings at conferences, in journals, and through Prolific’s marketing channels.
• Contribute to the overall sciences agenda, influencing topics such as representativeness, synthetic data, and methodological innovation.

Required profile

• PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., psychology, research methodology, computational social science, statistics, economics, social science).
• Strong grounding in online research methods and experience with large‑scale participant platforms.
• Proven ability to generate research ideas, move quickly, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
