Research Scientist in Biomedical Sciences

About the role

The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center seeks a Research Scientist for its Biomedical Sciences department. The role involves designing, performing, and analyzing experiments that support the institution’s mission in oral health and neuroscience research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments aligned with project objectives, including in‑vitro and animal models.
• Maintain detailed records, manage data sets, and develop procedures to improve data collection efficiency.
• Prepare manuscripts and grant proposals, present findings at scientific meetings, and stay current with literature.
• Mentor students and trainees, coordinate laboratory activities, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Physiology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• At least six years of relevant research experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
