Research Engineer – Reinforcement Learning for Self‑Driving

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking passionate Research Engineers to advance reinforcement learning (RL) techniques for autonomous driving and robotics. You will work within a world‑class research group that builds large‑scale RL training pipelines and deploys breakthroughs to real‑world self‑driving systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and conduct research on reinforcement learning algorithms, including large‑scale self‑play and post‑training optimization.
• Develop and maintain the training infrastructure that supports millions of miles of simulation data.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to integrate research outcomes into autonomous vehicle and robotic platforms.
• Publish findings in top conferences and contribute to the scientific community.

Required profile

• Strong background in reinforcement learning research, with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
• Experience working on large‑scale machine‑learning systems is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
