Research Engineer

About the role

The Research Engineer position at 3M offers the chance to work on precision coating and web processing technologies, collaborating with innovative teams worldwide. You will help translate laboratory breakthroughs into manufacturing scale‑up and contribute to new product development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop capabilities in precision coating and web processing and apply them to new products.
• Scale‑up technologies from lab to manufacturing, ensuring successful transfer.
• Characterize physical properties of fluids, dispersions, and substrates.
• Present results clearly to multidisciplinary teams and support intellectual‑property development.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s (or higher) in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands‑on mechanical and experimental experience with a methodical, problem‑solving attitude.
• Strong communication, organization, and ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
