Research Assistant for Ko Lab

About the role

The Ko Lab at Texas A&M University Health Science Center seeks a Research Assistant to support ongoing cell biology and genetics projects. This position provides technical, administrative, and mentorship support across multiple research phases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, planning, and coordinating experiments for various research projects.
• Maintain laboratory resources, perform equipment checks, manage mouse cages, and track reagent inventory.
• Operate and install research equipment, conduct data and statistical analysis, and summarize experimental results.
• Prepare proposals, manage financial accounts, and handle reports, invoices, and record‑keeping.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students and support other lab staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with research personnel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment operation.
• Proficiency with computers and relevant software for data analysis and statistical evaluation.
