Remote Accountant 2 – Corporate Accounting

About the role

Nordstrom is seeking an Accountant 2 to join the Corporate Accounting team on a remote basis. You will handle moderately complex accounting activities, supporting month‑end close and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately record transactions and reconcile accounts in the general ledger.
• Analyze balance‑sheet and income‑statement accounts, investigating unusual trends.
• Perform accounting and control procedures for prepaid expenses, inter‑company transactions, and various accruals.
• Support internal and external audit efforts and maintain SOX compliance.
• Contribute to month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Assist with ad‑hoc projects as directed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX/internal controls.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Public accounting or corporate accounting experience is a plus.
