Accountant – Financial Operations

About the role

Zeno Power is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to support the development and market launch of Radioisotope Power Systems. The role combines core accounting functions with strategic financial analysis in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, process invoices and reconcile bank statements to the general ledger.
• Support purchasing by processing purchase orders and approving requisitions.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow reports.
• Conduct internal audits, assist with external audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Analyze historical performance to develop budgets, forecast trends and recommend cost‑reduction strategies.
• Support payroll processing, expense reimbursements and payroll tax reconciliations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with at least 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong problem‑solving ability to identify discrepancies, assess financial risks and analyze business trends.
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (Excel, pivot tables) and accounting platforms such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
• Deep understanding of GAAP, current tax legislation and ability to translate complex financial data for non‑financial stakeholders.
