Reliability Engineer – Space Launch & Propulsion

About the role

As the first Reliability Engineer at Cowboy Space Corporation, you will shape the reliability strategy for our groundbreaking satellite and propulsion systems. You will define and implement processes that ensure our vehicles meet stringent safety and performance standards while avoiding unnecessary complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and tailor reliability processes specific to Cowboy Space’s launch and propulsion programs.
• Identify single points of failure, assess acceptable risks, and design effective redundancy solutions.
• Collaborate with propulsion, structures, and avionics teams to integrate reliability considerations into design and testing.
• Analyze test data to evaluate margins, predict failure modes, and guide design improvements.
• Lead investigations of anomalies and drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in reliability engineering within aerospace or related high‑tech industries.
• Ability to create and adapt reliability processes from the ground up.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data‑driven decision making.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
