About the role

Join Cowboy Space Corporation as a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2027 in Kent, Washington. You will work directly with experienced spacecraft engineers on the mechanical systems of orbital solar power satellites, contributing to real hardware that is on the path to flight.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of structural, mechanical, and thermal subsystems using CAD tools and engineering analysis methods.
• Assist in developing and executing test plans for mechanical hardware, including structural, vibration, thermal, and deployment tests.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate components and troubleshoot issues during assembly and testing.
• Document design decisions, test results, and engineering calculations.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in spacecraft hardware and space‑based energy systems.
• Ability to work in a hands‑on, fast‑paced engineering environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Experience in structural analysis and thermal analysis.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing procedures, including vibration testing.
• Basic knowledge of engineering documentation and data reporting.
