Relationship Manager - Commercial Banking

About the role

Associated Bank is expanding into new markets and is looking for experienced, entrepreneurial middle-market bankers to build and grow a commercial portfolio from the ground up. The role offers the chance to shape market presence, deepen client relationships and drive growth, partnering across the bank to deliver tailored financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and grow a Middle Market Commercial portfolio through prospecting, credit opportunity identification and client retention.
• Drive loan, deposit and fee income growth through disciplined calling plans.
• Partner with Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Private Banking and Wealth to deliver holistic solutions.
• Analyze client financials and structure credit solutions aligned with risk and policy guidelines.
• Manage portfolio risk and ensure compliance with credit policy, regulatory standards and business strategy.
• Present credit recommendations and take part in loan approval processes with Portfolio Management.
• Engage with community and business organizations to build brand presence and referral networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of commercial banking or B2B business development experience.
• Proven track record of portfolio growth, client management and credit analysis.
• Strong knowledge of commercial products and non-credit solutions.
• Preferred: experience building portfolios in expansion or growth markets, and an established network of middle-market clients.
