Reinsurance Placement Assistant

About the role

Guy Carpenter is looking for a Reinsurance Placement Assistant to join its team in Seattle, Washington. This is a hybrid role with at least three days a week spent in the office. The role coordinates placement support for assigned accounts, reviews and assesses data and exhibits, supports account team members onsite and remotely, and monitors the reinsurance placement process for compliance with quality and regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update annual renewal exhibits based on client data, analysing trends and potential data issues
• Learn and use company systems for setting up and renewing programs, creating submissions, selecting approved markets and managing quotes and authorizations
• Track placement status of assigned accounts and follow up with brokers
• Communicate with clients and markets during the placement process
• Draft and secure broker sign-off on renewal requests, marketing lists, placement updates and post-placement communications
• Assist brokers by researching financial statements, product lines, geographic exposures and program information
• Provide client data for modeling and research, and support contract negotiations
• Manage contract documents so that executed documents are obtained and tracked

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional or business work experience
• Preferred: 2+ years in a reinsurance intermediary firm with reinsurance underwriting support experience
• Bachelor's degree and/or relevant designations such as CPCU, CLU, ARM or ARe
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel, including data scrubbing, formulas, charts, VLOOKUP, MIN/MAX, COUNTIF, filters, pivot tables and data auditing
• Preferred: Power BI and PowerPoint, with a focus on procedural compliance

• Base salary of $52,800 to $87,200, depending on experience, skills, location and certifications
