Regulatory and Accreditation Manager

About the role

The Regulatory and Accreditation Manager ensures system‑wide compliance with environmental safety regulations, including Environment of Care, Life Safety Code standards, USP <800>, hazardous waste disposal, and laser safety for Ochsner Health.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the designated USP <800> person, maintaining compliance with TJC, CMS, and Louisiana Department of Health regulations.
• Prepare mock survey reports, conduct regulatory rounding site visits, and document reviews.
• Maintain environmental testing and wipe‑sampling reports, develop action plans, and oversee storage and compounding area controls.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures, policies, and training related to risk prevention and regulatory changes.
• Participate in accrediting body surveys, system Environment of Care Committee, and ensure competency tracking for personnel.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory healthcare, facilities, plant engineering or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of USP <800> and related regulations.
• Familiarity with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
• Understanding of CMS and Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) requirements.
• Experience with environmental testing, wipe sampling, and laser safety protocols.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications for compliance tracking.
