Regular System Technician (Vision)

About the role

The Vision Systems Product Line seeks a skilled technician to support development and testing of advanced camera systems for the automotive industry. You will work on vehicle retrofits, test fixture construction, and troubleshooting in an R&D environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install customer products in test and data‑capture vehicles and manage retrofit plans, including timing and budget.
• Coordinate with customer teams and suppliers to develop and integrate new test tools.
• Design and build ECU flash programming fixtures and test harnesses, and maintain system test workstations.
• Solder, repair, and rework camera ECUs/PCBs, and perform post‑build testing and repairs.
• Create and update documentation for system usage, setup architecture, and BOM for in‑vehicle testing.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Electronics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in soldering, PCB repair, wiring, and test‑setup development.
• Full clean driving licence and ability to work autonomously.
• Strong analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Soldering and PCB rework.
• Use of multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply, and schematic reading.
• CAN communication monitoring devices.
• Experience with ADAS and GPS reference systems.
• Familiarity with data‑logger devices such as Velodyne, LuxMeters, CAN gateways, Vector.
• National Instruments PXI hardware.
• Vision system technologies (camera, imager, radar, lidar).
• Shop tools (band saw, grinder, drill, mill, lathe) and 3D printing/CNC machining.
