Registered Respiratory Therapist II - Nights

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT II) for full-time night shifts. The practitioner performs respiratory care in both critical and non-critical care areas and assists and advises staff Certified Respiratory Practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, continuous positive airway pressure (CPT) and incentive spirometry
• Mechanical ventilation and arterial blood gas analysis
• Pulmonary function testing and pulse oximetry
• Assist with fiberoptic bronchoscopy and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapist program with an Associate's degree
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certified by the NBRCC
• Current Florida RT or TT license; CRT is accepted but must become registered within 36 months of hire
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and push or pull up to 40 lbs, with long periods of standing, sitting and walking

Required skills

• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certification
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire

Threshold requirements completed annually: Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of professional licensure and certification.
