Registered Respiratory Therapist – Enterprise Flexible Staffing Pool

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its Enterprise Flexible Staffing Pool. You will work rotating evening/night shifts across multiple CCHS locations, providing patient‑first respiratory care to adult, pediatric and neonatal populations in a variety of inpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Float to multiple CCHS sites and deliver respiratory care in critical care, obstetrics, emergency, behavioral health and other inpatient areas.
• Perform advanced respiratory modalities, IV insertion, ECGs, peripheral phlebotomy, blood‑gas puncture and analysis, and administer related medications.
• Develop, implement and monitor individualized patient care plans, assess treatment frequency, and communicate patient status to multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatment options and community support resources.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and RRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; NRP and/or NPS certification when applicable.
• Ability to float between sites, work evening/night rotations, and meet weekend/holiday requirements.

Required skills

• IV insertion and peripheral phlebotomy.
• Electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition and interpretation.
• Blood‑gas analysis and advanced respiratory care techniques.
• Proficiency in using respiratory equipment and monitoring devices.
