Registered Respiratory Therapist – Children’s Hospital with Sign‑on Bonus

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the Children’s Hospital team. This full‑time, night‑shift position offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $30,000 for experienced candidates and up to $20,000 for new graduates. You will provide critical and general respiratory care to pediatric patients in a high‑performing, award‑winning health system.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies, including mechanical ventilator and Bi‑PAP management.
• Set up and operate respiratory equipment, administer aerosol medications, and document patient response.
• Maintain inventory of respiratory supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
• Participate in emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation and manage airways for critical care patients.
• Perform arterial blood gas studies, pulse oximetry, and nocturnal sleep screening.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from an accredited RRT program and RRT certification (NBRC) within one year of hire.
• Licensure in Pennsylvania and completion of ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within specified timeframes.
• Ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand for long periods, and walk up to 8‑10 miles per shift.
