Registered Nurse – Supervisory Operations Coordinator – Critical Care Nights

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) will supervise and coordinate critical‑care operations during night shifts at Ochsner Health’s Bay St Louis facility. This role ensures high‑quality patient care, oversees the nursing team, and facilitates efficient discharge planning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions while coordinating the care provided by licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and other health professionals.
• Serve as a communication link between the Unit Director, staff, patients, physicians, and clinical resources.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop nursing staff, addressing performance strengths and weaknesses.
• Manage clinical operations on the unit, including resource allocation and compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.
• Communicate critical issues promptly to appropriate parties and ensure effective discharge planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast‑paced, high‑stress clinical environment.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
