Registered Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse to lead nursing care at the Georgia Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Decatur. This position oversees a unit that provides skilled nursing services to individuals with profound to severe developmental disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, and assign work to nursing staff on the assigned shift.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for the unit, ensuring accurate patient assessments.
• Develop and maintain nursing care plans and medical records.
• Provide clinical guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Advise patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment planning.
• Coordinate staffing, assignments, and daily nursing operations.
• Ensure compliance with standards, policies, and regulations.

Required profile

• Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Associate degree in Nursing (minimum) with at least four years of nursing experience, including two years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience caring for patients with G/J tubes, tracheostomies, and seizure disorders.
• Background in long‑term care, geriatric nursing, or care for individuals with mental health or developmental disabilities preferred.
