Registered Nurse – Specialty – PACU – Per Diem

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Specialty – Per Diem provides patient‑family centered care in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at UHealth SoLé Mia. This float night‑shift position supports a culturally competent environment, applying evidence‑based standards of quality, safety and service for diverse patient populations. The role is part‑time and intermittent, offering flexibility for qualified nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and symptoms to the care team.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families and interdisciplinary team members while complying with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transition.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
• Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency with office software, and strong written and verbal communication.
