Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Radiation

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a part-time, day-shift Registered Nurse (RN) for its oncology radiation program in Denver, Colorado. The nurse provides direct patient care, coordinates with the medical team and supports patients and families through their treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and follow physician orders and hospital protocols
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication
• Supervise and delegate care to other team members
• Respond promptly to code situations and take part in performance improvement activities

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor's degree preferred, Associate's degree required
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and adjust care plans
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
