Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time night shift Registered Nurse (RN) for its Critical Value ICU (CVICU) in Littleton, Colorado. The nurse conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops care plans, administers treatments and provides education and support to patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and follow physician orders and hospital protocols
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, interventions and outcomes
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support and supervise and delegate care to the healthcare team
• Respond promptly to code situations and take part in performance improvement activities

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (AHA) certification
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans
