Registered Nurse RN Clinical Manager

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice and community-based services. As Clinical Manager, you will lead, supervise and coordinate therapy services so that patient care is high quality, compliant and cost effective, while keeping fiscal responsibility. The role also supports patient care communication, referrals, scheduling, visits and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Recommend employment decisions for staff to the director of operations, including hiring, firing, advancement, promotion and status changes.
• Ensure the overall quality of patient care and the clinical performance of nurses and aides.
• Organize clinical operations for the care center.
• Review service requests and determine patient eligibility and suitability for home care, working with intake on referrals and admissions.
• Oversee scheduling and payor verification and precertification requirements.
• Review documentation of other staff and resolve missing, incomplete or untimely records.
• Help clinicians set patient goals, priorities and the Plan of Care, and revise it regularly with them.
• Train staff to ensure quality care, compliance and fiscal responsibility; investigate and resolve patient, family and physician concerns.
• Occasionally provide direct patient care in emergencies and take part in the on-call process.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Current RN license for the state(s) of assignment.
• At least 1 year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice.
• At least 1 year of RN management experience.
• Current CPR certification, driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

• Salary of $73,188 to $109,782 per year for full-time employment, depending on factors such as market, education and experience.
