Registered Nurse PCU

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring Registered Nurses for its CVPCU and MPCU units in Ocala, Florida, on a full-time basis. Day and night shifts are available, and the position is located at 1500 SW 1st Ave, Ocala, FL 34471.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor patient responses and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and document care in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation standards and organizational policies, and take part in quality improvement.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, maintain a safe environment and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required; other certifications listed as preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Required skills

• Critical care nursing skills and knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking and accurate EMR documentation.
• Organization, prioritization, problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Preferred: previous Cerner, EPIC and EKG interpretation experience.
