About the role
The outpatient or ambulatory care nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient facility, clinic, or virtual setting, while coordinating care across the continuum. This role supports a safe work environment and maintains clinical competency for the patient population served.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure optimal satisfaction.
- Deliver skilled nursing care, including medication administration and procedures.
- Provide patient and family education, evaluate its effectiveness, and keep materials current.
- Identify and intervene to prevent or correct patient risks based on physiological, behavioral, and environmental observations.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Required profile
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and evidence‑based practice.
- Ability to adapt to change in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent time management and computer skills (EMR, word processing, Excel).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (Pennsylvania) upon hire.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Medication administration.
- Microsoft Excel.
