Registered Nurse - Operating Room Circulator

About the role

AdventHealth in Littleton, Colorado is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse as an Operating Room Circulator. The nurse assesses patients, develops care plans, performs therapeutic and diagnostic interventions and advocates for patient safety in the operating room. The position is eligible for OR shift differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and needs through comprehensive evaluations to develop individualized care plans.
• Develop and implement patient care plans with the interdisciplinary team, and monitor and adjust them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, and perform IVs, wound care, catheterization and specimen collection.
• Maintain sterile environments and follow safety protocols to prevent infection.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and post-discharge care.
• Document care activities accurately and advocate for patient safety by identifying risks.
• Provide emotional and physical support during recovery and take part in quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required).
• 1+ year of surgery experience (required).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).
• Registered Nurse license (required).
• Proficiency in English (required).
• Ability to work independently and take direction from physicians and management.

Required skills

• Safe knowledge of equipment, procedures, supplies, IV pumps, NOVA glucose monitor and I-STAT.
• Immediate use sterilization policy and procedures.
