About the role

Join Ochsner’s Observation Unit on Jeff Highway as a full‑time Registered Nurse working the night shift (7 PM – 7 AM). This position offers a sign‑on bonus and the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Use data and knowledge to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and individual preferences.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer systems and Windows‑style applications for data entry and retrieval.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid RN licensure.
